Becoming a Daddy

I’m going to become a daddy, sounds weird saying this but soon I will be in a couple of months. Anyway time to start becoming one, it’s a life changing experience but I’m going to start this life believing it will be a great experience. Better to start now than later. But first things first, I need to show my love and care to the one I truly love, my beloved wife Sharon, who will have to bear this child for the next few months. The body changing experience, the pain a woman will have to go through, the emotions she faces are just a few that a pregnant woman faces. Time to step up as a better, more understanding loving husband. Wish me all the best.

My first ever trip to Kangaroo land and I was utterly excited about it as the previous year I missed the chance to go due to the H1N1 scare. But here I am in Sydney Australia very excited as this was an impromptu holiday planned just 2 days before the departure, which made us even more excited about it. I want to thank Jesus for making it possible for us to make it to Australia despite 2 failed attempts to go to Australia. How often have you come across internet slang which you just can’t seem to understand, like lol, brb, ttyl or even eod. I bet you might not even know some of the acronyms I’m talking about right now, but needless to say this are common nowadays and honestly I don’t understand quite a lot of them. When I chat with people or check out forums many times such slangs are used and I can’t seem to make sense out if it. Take for example afaik, I intially thought it was a name of one of a Malay guy. But to my surprise it is “afaik - as far as I know”. Now what about this rifk. How would I ever know what it is? Anyone care to take a guess? The answer to this is rolling on the floor laughing. Anyway I found my the dictionary of internet slang and I will not get lost again figuring out what the acronyms are trying to tell me. I found it here noslang.

Which team to support?

The F1 season begins just around the corner and it is speculated to be a furious racing year in 2010 with new teams such as Mercedes, Lotus, Virgin joining the pack to win the 2010 season. But which team do I support this year? There’s just so many teams which I would like to support. Take for example Ferrari, which I have been a keen supporter for the past 3 years ever since Kimi Raikkonen joined Ferrari, but now that he is gone will I still support Ferrari?. Next up is McLaren team, they now have 2 drivers who are world champions, Kimi used to be an ex driver there as well and I personally like McLaren but not really a fan of Hamilton so support or not..i dunno? Next up is the Mercedes team, Petronas (A Malaysian Petrol Company) is the main sponsor, uncle known to me as Michael Schumacher who is also 7 time world champion is back in F1 again together with Ross Brawn the brains behind Brawn GP the winning team of 2009 F1, also it was their first ever year joining F1 and they won that year as well beating Ferrari and McLaren. Looking at this they surely have a very good team, but Michael has stopped racing for 3 years, can he be himself which he used to be back in his glorious ways in 2006? What about Rosberg..can he outperform ex-world champions like Alonso in the Ferrari or Hamilton or even Button. I hope he is on par with the world champions. Next up is Red Bull which is one of the top contenders in 2009 taking the second spot, reading from the pre season testing news they are equally as fast and quick as well with the top teams. Newcomers to F1 which I would love to see perform well will be Lotus which is Malaysia’s very own F1 team, sad to say I don’t think they are on par with the top teams but I sure do hope they beat the other newcomers to F1 like Virgin. But as for the top teams I have yet to decide on which team to pick but it looks like Mercedes and Ferrari will be my top 2 choices for this year’s F1 team choice. Waiting in anticipation for the start of F1 2010.

A post nuclear thriller with some biblical aspects to the show, but overall it’s a must watch for post nuclear show, games fans. I liked the part of the show where bible verses were used and where Eli acted on “faith” in many circumstances to complete what he was called on to complete in his journey. Despite the many obstacles he went through God brought him out of it as he believed God will bring him through till the end of his journey. In many circumstances we are like Eli, but what differentiates Eli is his faith in finishing his task. Did Eli give up? Well nope he never gave up, he kept believing and he kept moving forward even though physically he couldn’t see what was in store for him to complete his task, Faith is indeed believing what is unseen, so we should never give up as well. So keep up the faith and keep moving forward.

Recently Sharon bought a Nikon DSLR although I persuaded her to get a Canon, but she insisted in going against me and getting the Nikon instead. Well if she had gotten a Canon we could have shared lenses and equipment but now she’s chosen the other brand…there’s nothing much to be said. Which is the better camera among the two? Honestly there are pros and cons among the two brands. But one thing is for sure I’m sticking on to Canon, I’m just too used to the canon menu layout and functionalities. Nikon’s menu is too complicated but honestly has more functions which Canon does not have.

Strangely the picture of me is taken by a Nikon and the picture of Sharon is taken on a Canon..hehe

The greenish Lotus T127 will be the color for the Malaysian Lotus F1 team. Honestly in my honest opinion it looks pretty decent and attractive with the yellow rims and green body color. Will it score points this season? We will have to wait but I hope they will be able to score some points.

I have many fond memories of Japan while in school when I was growing up, special thanks goes to my dad who used to arrange and organize student exchanges to Japan. I being his only son was always chosen to go hahaha for such exchange trips, how blessed…I remembered when I was younger I told my dad why I have to go on such trip…how foolish when I was younger. But coming back to the land of the rising sun really excites me this time as I’m accompanied by my wonderful wife and it is her ever first trip to Japan.

In 1924, Hachikō was brought to Tokyo by his owner, Hidesaburō Ueno, a professor in the agriculture department at the University of Tokyo. During his owner's life Hachikō saw him off from the front door and greeted him at the end of the day at the nearby Shibuya Station. The pair continued their daily routine until May 1925, when Professor Ueno did not return on the usual train one evening. The professor had suffered a stroke at the university that day. He died and never returned to the train station where his friend was waiting.

Hachikō was given away after his master's death, but he routinely escaped, showing up again and again at his old home. Eventually, Hachikō apparently realized that Professor Ueno no longer lived at the house. So he went to look for his master at the train station where he had accompanied him so many times before. Each day, Hachikō waited for Professor Ueno to return. And each day he did not see his friend among the commuters at the station.

The permanent fixture at the train station that was Hachikō attracted the attention of other commuters. Many of the people who frequented the Shibuya train station had seen Hachikō and Professor Ueno together each day. They brought Hachikō treats and food to nourish him during his wait.

This continued for 10 years, with Hachikō appearing only in the evening time, precisely when the train was due at the station.^[2]

Singapore Formula 1 Grand Prix Weekend 2009

My first time experiencing F1 live in action. Have to say the experience was utterly fantastic. During the weekend I also managed to see the Austin Martin cars in qualifying. But I tell you once the F1 cars came out on track the atmosphere totally changed with the sound of the V8 F1 engine was amazingly super loud and you need an ear plug to cover up your ears.

F1 action begins…

It’s hard to focus on the F1 cars when taking a shot, first there were so many people trying to get a good shot and they bump into you secondly when you are about to shoot it somebody blocks you. There was once all us photographers were at this good spot (photos taken at the spot below) to take F1 cars at a corner, suddenly all of a sudden 2 official photographers who had access to inner barriers took away our beautiful vantage point. One foreigner got really pissed and threw a cup at them (Look below for pics). Thank God no there were no fights between the official photographers and we innocent photographers. But the official photographers were kinda pissed I could tell.

There was one person in the Bible that was in this situation and His name was Samson. His mother before having him could not bear a child was visited by the angel of the Lord. The angel of the Lord visited her and told her she will be pregnant and give birth to a son and his name would be Samson. Samson was a special person selected from God to have supernatural strength just like the characters from the TV show Heroes, but he was a Hero with supernatural strength that will save the Israelites from the Philistines.

⁵ You will become pregnant and give birth to a son, and his hair must never be cut. For he will be dedicated to God as a Nazirite from birth. He will begin to rescue Israel from the Philistines.” Judges 13:4 (NLT)

Well keeping the long story short Samson was to be married to a Philistine women which he fell in love, before he was to be married to her his wife was given in marriage to the man who had been Samson’s best man at the wedding. Because of this he was very angry with the Philistines and so he attacked the Philistines with great fury and killed many of them. Then he went to live in a cave in the rock of Etam. While living there some 3000 men of Judah came to catch him and present him to the Philistines. Again he took revenge of the Philistines and killed many of them.

Soon after he fell in love with a women called Delilah. The rulers of the Philistines went to Delilah and said, “Entice Samson to tell you what makes him so strong and how he can be overpowered and tied up securely. Then each of us will give you 1,100 piecesof silver.” For the sake of money Delilah went to Samson asking him how he got his strength, but for 3 times Samson lied to her but finally Samson gave up and revealed his secret . “My hair has never been cut,” he confessed, “for I was dedicated to God as a Nazirite from birth. If my head were shaved, my strength would leave me, and I would become as weak as anyone else.” What happened next is when he woke up he found himself bald and soon after before being captured he tried to resist but he didn’t realize the Lord had left him. So the Philistines captured him and gouged out his eyes. They took him to Gaza, where he was bound with bronze chains and forced to grind grain in the prison. But before long, his hair began to grow back.

Imagine at this stage Samson must have felt so terribly forsaken by God. Surely he has asked God where is He. Surely in life we face trials and tribulations which is in similar proportions of today’s living. But how does our Loving Father come into the picture? Is God a graceful Father? Surely He is, for His promises are true and He will surely remember all of us even though He may seem so far so distant. But He is there for sure looking down from Heaven just wanting to take a peak at what you’re up too.

Samson’s Final Victory

Samson’s hair started to grow back when in prison and guess what? his powers also grew back. The Philistine rulers held a great festival, offering sacrifices and praising their god, Dagon. They said, “Our god has given us victory over our enemy Samson!” When the people saw him, they praised their god, saying, “Our god has delivered our enemy to us! The one who killed so many of us is now in our power!” Half drunk by now, the people demanded, “Bring out Samson so he can amuse us!” So he was brought from the prison to amuse them, and they had him stand between the pillars supporting the roof. Samson said to the young servant who was leading him by the hand, “Place my hands against the pillars that hold up the temple. I want to rest against them.” Now the temple was completely filled with people. All the Philistine rulers were there, and there were about 3,000 men and women on the roof who were watching as Samson amused them. Then Samson prayed to the Lord, “Sovereign Lord, remember me again. O God, please strengthen me just one more time. With one blow let me pay back the Philistines for the loss of my two eyes.” Then Samson put his hands on the two center pillars that held up the temple. Pushing against them with both hands, he prayed, “Let me die with the Philistines.” And the temple crashed down on the Philistine rulers and all the people. So he killed more people when he died than he had during his entire lifetime. Later his brothers and other relatives went down to get his body. They took him back home and buried him between Zorah and Eshtaol, where his father, Manoah, was buried. Samson had judged Israel for twenty years.

I’m car crazy

I confess I like cars, well with the recent movies like transformers: revenge of the fallen focusing on the beautiful cars and also the purchase of my new car have increased my liking towards cars, but I’ve always loved cars since when I was much younger so does my dad. Well one particular brand of car which I admire most and dream of having and driving is non other than the Ferrari. The sound of the engines roaring …perfectly amazing. I believe I will own one one day. AMEN ! Well this is boys stuff and surely my wife will shake her head after reading this. Buy hey you gals got your own things that you like like your coach bags and you LV bags which cost thousands of $$$ to keep your stuff when on the go. But come to think of it we are no different than them.

The great Singapore sale just ended over 2 weeks ago and Sharon and I had a great opportunity to be in Singapore during the last weekend of the Great Singapore Sale. The experience was a roaring experience with hundreds to thousands of people crowding the roads of Orchard Road “the great place to shop in Singapore”. Sharon and I also had a fantastic opportunity to do some shopping of our own. We were truly amazed by the vast amounts of stuff you can get in Singapore which cannot be found in Malaysia. Singapore is truly the great place to do some shopping. Now I understand why some people travel all the way to Singapore to shop shop shop.

One of the main reasons we were down in Singapore besides shopping was to worship with Hillsong United where NCC’s youth ministry organized a one day youth conference with Ps. Judah Smith and Hillsong United. Unfortunately we were unable to attend the conference but we rushed to the concert after some family engagements and we were really blessed with the worship together with Hillsong United. I really want to thank Errolyn for getting the tickets for us and also booking the hotel for us. You are truly blessed to serve our Lord full time in NCC. May God Bless your boundaries and in every way possible in your life.

I never ever thought of taking a boat to work but it will soon become reality in 2010. The Penang State Government is proposing water shuttle services along the coast lines in Penang Island and Butterworth. It’s really a good idea with the traffic condition in Penang worsening with more and more vehicles on the road. Honestly I am in favor of the water taxis services. It’s just pretty cool being able to travel by boat around Penang plus it’s also good for Penang’s Tourism Industry all in all.

iPhone 2G 3.0 bug

A bug has been identified on original iPhone (2G) where many users have complained that there is a problem when receiving calls after upgrading to 3.0. I experienced the same problem as well after 3.0. But thanks to someone in the online community who found a way to resolve this by disabling the fetch new data to “off” and walla you will start receiving calls without any problems. It’s not such a big fuss by turning it off for me as long as receiving calls works effortlessly.

Ok I seldom write reviews on movies but let me try to write one for TF2 since there’s certainly a large mix of reviews on the movies. I’m guessing as you may have heard from friends that some enjoy the movie a lot while some are disappointed. Let me start with the disappointments, from a start audiences were not able to recognize who is who in the movie, especially during the fighting scenes, there just wasn’t clear introduction to the new characters in the movie. I’m guessing that’s the way Michael Bay wanted it to be to make fans head for the cinemas for a 2nd time…to gain more $$$. Surely enough the second time you watch the show you will be more attentive in catching the characters in the movie. Well the other lowdown to the movie is the lack of storyline which I feel is the best Michael Bay can do as the movie focuses more on action scenes and CG which i think fans will be looking out for. My guess is fans couldn’t care less about a lame story line as long as the robots are cool and the action scenes are great which Michael does a great job thanks to the CG guys.

TF2 scores big time with the huge and action packed scenes especially when Prime is fighting the Decepticons all alone to rescue Sam….Opps spoilers. One thing I noticed is the robots drool when they get their face smacked by the Autobots or vice versa and one of the twin robots losing their golden tooth Opps another spoiler. The detailing is just fantastic you will surely miss out on much of the details the first time you catch the movie, it will take several times of watching the show before you notice all the details. There is never a dull moment in the show with all the witty jokes and funny scripts to make the show interesting and funny, at times it's more than a comedy than an action packed movie but it certainly makes the show livelier. Length of the show is about right at 2 hours and 30mins, surely the movie is much longer before editing but in my opinions it’s about right. Focus this time in TF2 focuses more on the individual characters which was one of the feedbacks by many fans which is a good thing. One example is Starscream and Megatron having more dialogue in the show compared to the previous Transformer movie but lesser conversations among the first batch of autobots (not Optimus and Bumblebee) which appeared in the first movie which I noticed.

Overall the movie is great in terms of action and CG effects in my books. Even Sharon who is not a TF fan started to like the all loyal Bumblebee.

iPhone 3.0 Ready

Just got my iPhone updated to 3.0. Got into some trouble on the way when updating the OS but in the end it was all worthwhile. Many thanks to the people from http://blog.iphone-dev.org/ and also my colleague Zaid who provided me with the link and for performing the restore on my iPhone.

There’s lots to talk about 3.0 although I’m yet to discover all the new features in 3.0. But one thing I really like about 3.0 is the cut and paste function which is lacking in the previous iPhone versions. Secondly the landscape keyboard is another highly sought after function especially when used when SMSing or emailing.

I can also MMS now which is certainly an added bonus to iPhone users as we have been craving for this feature ever since the launch of the original iPhone. Still not sure whether this feature works perfectly but I hope it does. Will give it a go and let you know.

*Note*: Just found out that iPhone 2G does not support MMS this sucks.

The next 2 functions I will be reviewing will be Stereo Bluetooth which is an added feature which was not in the previous OSes which also didn’t allow me to connect to my car bluetooth kit by the way (even older nokia phones can do it but not the iPhone), but now it does yippies. Automatic Wi-Fi Login is really cool, I seriously like this feature, it makes it easier for me now to connect to Wi-Fi hotspots.

And surely Safari improvements are more than welcome as Safari tends to close when loading blogs or websites full of pictures and contest in previous OSes.

Another cool feature but not everyone’s favorite is the voice memos which allows you to take record audio on the go.

There are many other features which are not really useful to me but it may be for others. But overall 3.0 is a huge upgrade for iPhone users which many users are happy with. Thank you iPhone team for developing 3.0.

Transformers: Revenge of The Fallen

Transformers 2 opened yesterday evening in Malaysian cinemas and it appears every cinema seat must have been filled to the max. Right up till now www.gsc.com.my (Golden Screen Cinema’s website) is still not accessible due to the thousands of people trying to reserve their seats for the show. One of the first conversations I overheard from colleagues the first thing I entered office today is the “Tranformers show damn chun” , “A must watch” , “Action packed man". And it also seems that the so called “Transformers Season” seems to be catching on to the male gender, and how is that?. Lots of Transformers kaki buying Transformers toys and merchandise and they are not kids or teenagers, they are grown working adults..and that’s serious. Grown up boys will still be boys.

One more day b4 the release of Transformers, just wondering will Transformer fans be like the Star Wars fan queuing the night before just to be among the first few hundred to watch Transformers? But I'm guessing Transformers’ fan base is not that big enuf compared to Star Wars but surely this will be one of the greatest movie this year. What will happen to Optimus Prime and his autobots? Will they be thrashed by the Decepticons? I’m guessing so if not they wouldn’t have named the show “Revenge of the Fallen”. Sabar sabar beberapa jam lagi sudah tahulah cerita sepenuhnya.

A Walk On The Beach

Few weeks ago before taking the ABE exams I was pretty much stressed due to the exam date drawing nearer. I haven’t sat in an exam hall for years now and this experience brings back the days when we burn midnight oil to study for the exams.

This was how I was like studying for exams

The day before the exam however Sharon and I decided to take a walk on the beach just to let go of some stress and guess what we saw, huge sand castles. It’s been quite a while since I’ve seen sand castles. And

A little bit higher and those sand castles will be reaching for the skies.

And because it was school holidays the beaches were pack with school kids and their parents all enjoying their time together.

Of course Sharon wanted me to take some photos of herself. Doesn’t she look pretty and cheeky.

And that was a day on the walk on the beach.

Was scheduled to go to Sydney Australia this July but looks like our plans got busted after the H1N1 virus is becoming pretty widespread in Australia with over a thousand cases the largest amount of H1N1 virus cases in this part of the world. Well Sharon and I have contemplated for 2-3 weeks now to go or not to go, but it looks like the situation in Australia has worsen. So to be on the safe side it’s a no go. So this will be the 2nd time I miss my chance to go see some kangaroos and koalas. Also missed a chance to see Hillsong worship team in action. Oh well there goes my holidays too…

Looks like we will plan for another holiday some other place then. Looking forward to it. But where arrrgh…..!!!

Finally my ABE exams are over. It’s been a while since i studied so hard staying up late, waking up early, spending more time reading books, doing pass year papers. When was the last time I did this…way back in 2004. It’s already 5 years now. But it’s really feels good after completing your exams. But but but there’s always a but back then in college we get many days off after our exams but now I'm back in my cube at work in front of my monitor. Isn’t that great? Managed to catch Night at the Museum 2 (Battle of the Smithsonian) in the cinemas this week, and was it way cool and absolutely fun watching this show to de-stress and just relax. However to my personal liking I still preferred the first show, somehow Night at the Museum 2 is like in a rush maybe they have limited time to film the show or something like this. But anyway it’s still a very cool movie and it’s my second 2009 summer movie that I’ve managed to catch in the “cinemas”. There will certainly be more summer blockbusters to come in a few weeks time. Looking forward to it.

I’ve just watched the new Star Trek movie, it was a pretty good movie, surprisingly Sharon finds the movie interesting as well not to fall asleep throughout the movie. Although i’m not an avid fan of Star Trek I still like the Star Trek series pretty well enough to know quite a bit about Star Trek. But I'm no trekkie i’m still a Star Wars fan. One thing i dislike about the movie though is how Kirk rose through the ranks to become a captain of the Enterprise. Just absurd for me. But that’s just how JJ Abrams wanted it to become. Yeah one thing I find it rather amusing during the show is the Russian crew member (not sure who he is) speaking in Russian. He sounded very funny.

The Great Turtle Race – Day 1

It’s day one of the Great Turtle Race and the turtle I've chosen is Seabiscuit has another 2635m to go before finishing the race. Looks like he is in last position..oh no. But it’s never too late to catch up as there’s still plenty of time for Seabiscuit to catch up.

Seabiscuit was the first turtle to receive a satellite tag for this year's Race, and a strange mark on the front of his carapace (or shell) makes him easy to spot. Although we can't be sure how he got this distinctive mark, it shows that whatever he has faced in his long life, Seabiscuit is one tough turtle!

Did you notice your dominant broadband provider Streamyx providing bad service lately (well heard this applies in Penang only). Oh yes it has been quite bad lately for me for the last 2 weeks. According to TM there are some works done on the Asia Pacific Cable Network 2 (APCN2) near Chongqing, China connecting Malaysia to the United States has been completed and resolved.

However, the Southeast Asia-Middle East-Western Europe 3 (SMW3) cable network between Tuas, Singapore and Penang linking Malaysia due to technical problems is still at the repairing stages. And if I'm not mistaken it should be corrected and fixed by today or latest tomorrow. So hold your horses and it should be repaired very soon. Hope everything goes back to normal.

Ferrari in trouble?

After 2 races in Melbourne and Sepang Ferrari still has yet to score a single championship point. Are they in trouble? Driver mistakes and also wrong strategy has caused the Prancing Horse 2 races. Not only that, they have just lost their court case against the diffuser issue causing them another big blow of chances of winning this year’s championship. Now Ferrari will have to waste $$$ and time to rebuilt their car to accommodate the new diffusers which they thought was illegal according to FIA regulations, while other teams like BRAWN GP the newbies to F1 seem to be benefiting from the controversial diffuser. But FIA as deemed the diffusers legal and now Ferrari will just have to play catch up. Looks to me like we will see the BRAWNs in the top 5 positions in this week’s China F1 GP. Where will Ferrari be at? We will have to wait and see…

The Pine Tree

A story about pine trees…..

Last April on a Sunday we took one of our "nowhere" drives, my husband was quietly driving a back road. I was occupied in the front passenger seat watching the scenery.

I noticed out of the corner of my eye that my husband was straining to look out my window. This startled me, since his eyes should be on the road in front of him. I asked him what he was looking at out the windows, and he quietly replied, "Nothing." His eyes went back to the road in front of him.

After a few minutes, I looked over at my husband and noticed a tear running down his cheek. I asked him what was wrong. This time he told me, "I was just thinking about Pop and a story he had once told me." Of course, because it had to do with his Pop I wanted to know the story, so I asked him to share it with me.

He said, "When I was about 8 years old, Pop and I were out fishing and that’s when he told me that the Pine trees know when it is Easter."
I had no idea what he meant by that, so I pressed him for more information.

He continued on… "The Pine trees start their new growth in the weeks before Easter — if you look at the tops of the Pine trees two weeks before, you will see the yellow shoots. As the days get closer to Easter Sunday, the tallest shoot will branch off and form a cross.

By the time Easter Sunday comes around, you will see that most of the Pine trees will have small yellow crosses on all of the tallest shoots."

I turned to look out the window and I couldn’t believe my eyes. It was a week before Easter, and you could see all of the trees with the tall yellow shoots stretching to Heaven.

The tallest ones shone in the sunlight like rows of tiny golden crosses.

This article is excerpted from the message, “Grace Flows In Worry-Free Areas Of Your Life”, preached by Pastor Joseph Prince on 17 February 2006.

God faithfully supplies His grace to every area of our life. His grace is flowing freely… until we choke the flow by allowing the devil to get us worried and troubled!

On the night that our Lord Jesus was betrayed, on the night that He entered into His passion and suffered for us, He said to His disciples:

John 14:27
Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

Jesus’ last will, and the greatest gift, that He wanted to leave behind for His disciples before His crucifixion was the gift of peace.

Our Lord is called the King of Salem (Hebrews 7:2). “Salem” means “peace.” He is also called the Prince of Peace. When He was on earth, He walked in such peace that He was always in control. They tried to stone Him once, but He just walked through the midst of them unharmed (John 8:59). No one could touch Him. He had perfect and absolute peace.

The devil ruffled up a storm in the Sea of Galilee, but Jesus just continued sleeping in the boat. The devil’s attack did not wake Him, only the cry of His disciples did (Mark 4:35–41). Even in His death, He was in control. No one took His life from Him. He laid down His life (John 10:17–18). He made the choice in the garden to lay down His life for us.

The Shalom (Peace) Of God

Jesus was and is always in perfect control. And one of the reasons He was so powerful was that He walked in the shalom (peace) of God. The word “peace” in John 14:27 is the word “shalom” in Hebrew. It means wellness, wholeness, completeness, as well as peace of heart and mind. So having shalom means having every part of you — spirit, soul and body — well.

So what did Jesus mean when He said, “Shalom I leave with you. Not the world’s shalom, but My shalom”? This is what He meant: “The shalom you saw Me living in; the shalom you saw Me sleep in, in that boat; the shalom you saw Me walk in, in the midst of the people who wanted to stone Me; the shalom that renders the devil powerless to touch Me; this shalom, My shalom, I give to you.”

This is the peace that Jesus has bequeathed to us. It is not a worldly peace that comes through soothing music, meditation, or deep breathing. It is more robust than that! It is not dependent on circumstances and it works in the midst of the storms of life.

Guard Your Heart Above All Else

“But Pastor Prince, if Jesus has given me this peace, why am I still so troubled and worried about many things?”

It is because you have allowed your heart to be troubled. Notice that immediately after Jesus said, “Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you…”, He said, “Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” You have to let not your heart be troubled or afraid. The Lord cannot “let not” for you. Your wife cannot “let not” for you. I cannot “let not” for you. You have to “let not” yourself!

Many people are guarding their finances, careers, children, health and so on. But the Lord does not want us to guard these things. Instead, He wants us to guard our hearts:

Proverbs 4:23, NIV
Above all else, guard your heart, for it is the wellspring of life.

We are to guard our hearts above all else. If we will guard that which is inside (He cannot guard that for us), God will guard all the other things on the outside. If we will let not our hearts be troubled or afraid, righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit will start flowing in our hearts. That is actually seeking first the kingdom of God, and all those things on the outside that we need will be added to us! (Matthew 6:33)

This should bring us relief. We don’t have to worry about so many things. We just have to guard our hearts. People make foolish decisions when their hearts are troubled. They do things that they would otherwise not do. So guard your heart. The Lord said to me once that if we will guard our hearts from being troubled or afraid, then if it is a miracle we need, a miracle we will get!

The way you guard your heart from being troubled and afraid is to quote John 14:27. Whenever trouble comes to your heart or you feel fearful, say, “Let not my heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” And you will release the power for the fulfilment of the verse. The peace of God will start flowing in your heart.

His Grace At Its Best

We all have our areas of weaknesses and strengths. What troubles me may not trouble you and vice versa. The devil knows which buttons to push for each one of us.

For example, while I may at times worry about my daughter because I love her so much, I am just not worried about my finances. Even when I was a student and my family was not well off, I was not worried about money. God gave me a grace ever since I was born-again to not worry about money.

The devil cannot get you in the areas of your life that you are not concerned about.

In fact, the Lord said to me recently, “Son, have you noticed that the devil cannot get you in the areas of your life that you are not concerned about? The areas that you are not troubled about are the areas where you see My grace at its best, My blessings at their richest.”

When He said that, I began to realize that there were other areas besides finances that I was not troubled about and where God’s grace flowed freely.

Some people think that their problems are too small for God to handle. “I am too embarrassed to tell God what troubles me. It is just a pimple that has been there for a few weeks.” Listen, if it causes your heart to be troubled, it is not a small thing! God wants you to cast it on Him. He does not want your heart troubled by anything, either big or small. And if you will cast it on Him and let not your heart be troubled, His grace will flow freely in that area of your life.

The Spirit Teaches Us On The Wavelength Of Peace

Another thing I want you to notice is that just before Jesus talks about giving His disciples His peace, He talks about the Holy Spirit’s guidance:

John 14:26–27
But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you. Peace I leave with you…

Jesus is telling us that the Holy Spirit teaches us all things on the wavelength of peace. In other words, if you guard your heart from being troubled by a problem, if you refuse to worry about it and just abide in His peace, the Holy Spirit will “teach you all things.” He will show you the way out of the situation!

My Experience With Stomach Pain

A number of years ago, I experienced some pain in my stomach, and finally went to see a specialist. Convinced that I needed to have a scope, he told me, “You never know, these symptoms that you have, you may think that they are nothing, but…” I looked at him and, you know, faith comes by hearing, but fear also comes by hearing!

After the consultation, I told myself, “Nah, forget about what he said. I am a man of faith!” But his words kept coming back to me. And as long as the symptoms were there and I had not had the scope done, I continued to be concerned about my symptoms. So I finally went for the scope. “Why not just settle it once and for all?” I told myself.

As it turned out, there was nothing wrong with my stomach. The pains were just lying symptoms! But do you know what happened during those months? I watched what I ate very carefully. I was fearful for my health for the first time, so much so that I began to eat organic food and drink carrot juice every day! I told my wife, Wendy, that I had to have brown rice — no white rice for me. Even when we ate out, I would bring along my brown rice! I was that radical. I also began to read Christian books on dieting. And I ran for about 45 minutes almost every day until I was so skinny!

Yet, with all that organic food, carrot juice and regular exercise, I went to see the doctor more often during those months than all the years when I did not exercise or eat so well! And they were for other reasons, not my stomach.

The Devil’s Modus Operandi

Now, when I look back, I can see how what the Lord said is so true. When I began to worry about a particular area of my life, problems started popping up in that very area.

As I was meditating on all this, the Lord began to show me the modus operandi of the devil, the way he operates. First, he comes to you and he sees an area of your life that he wants to attack. But he knows that he has no power to harm you — Jesus stripped him of all his power (Colossians 2:15). So the only thing he can do is to get you to worry.

Do you remember what 1 Peter 5:8 says? “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.” What is the preceding verse? “… casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.” (1 Peter 5:7)

The devil cannot manage a peaceful Christian!

In other words, whenever you are full of cares and are not casting your cares on the Lord, you become “devour-able” to the devil. But the opposite is also true: The devil cannot manage a peaceful Christian! No, he has to get you ruffled, troubled, worried and fearful first before he can touch you.

Worrying Hinders The Flow Of Grace

Here is an illustration that the Lord gave me to help you understand what I am saying. Imagine that there are many pipes coming down from heaven. These are flexible pipes and they are all ministering God’s manifold grace into every area of your life. There is a grace for healing flowing into your life, a grace for prosperity, a grace for your marriage and so on.

Once you are a believer, you are righteous by faith and you have “access by faith into this grace in which we stand.” (Romans 5:2) When it comes to the benefits and blessings of God, all of us, whether we are pastors or ushers, enjoy the same inheritance. We are all on equal footing on the ground of grace.

When Jesus died on the cross, there was an earthquake and God’s heart burst open, and streams of His love, grace, mercy and blessings just flowed out. And since God is eternal, these streams are eternal. They have been flowing ever since Jesus died. They are flowing all the time.

But what happens is that when we worry, it is as if we are grabbing hold of those flexible pipes, and hindering the flow of God’s grace into those areas of our lives. The more we worry, the tighter we grip the pipe and the more it becomes choked. Is His grace still being supplied from heaven? Yes, but the pipe is clogged with our worries and cares. Conversely, in the areas that we are not worried about, His grace flows freely, producing thirtyfold, sixtyfold and finally hundredfold results.

So when you are ruffled, troubled, worried and fearful about a particular area of your life, say your finances, you are giving the devil access into that area. The devil has no power to just stop the grace that is flowing into your finances. He cannot touch that pipe. God will not allow it. The only one who can touch it is you.

Lying Symptoms To Get You Troubled

Since the devil knows that he has no power over you, what he will do is give you lying symptoms to make you worry. Take your health, for example. The devil cannot just put a disease on you. He has no right to do that to a child of God because Jesus has borne your sins on the cross. He has taken your punishment and borne your diseases and pains. By His stripes you were healed (Isaiah 53:4–5). You also cannot be cursed with any curse because Christ has redeemed you from the curse of the Law (Galatians 3:13).

All the devil can do is give you lying symptoms and hope that you will be troubled. Once you are troubled and worried about those symptoms, and start thinking about them all the time, you begin to hinder the flow of God’s grace into your health. Again, God is still supplying the grace. He is faithful. It is your worrying that is clogging up the pipe.

Bring It To The Lord In Prayer

So refuse to worry. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. When there is something you are concerned about, bring it to the Lord in prayer:

Philippians 4:6–7
Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Don’t be anxious. There is no use praying worried prayers. Just tell the Lord about the problem and cast your cares on Him, knowing that He cares for you (1 Peter 5:7). Let it go. Then thank the Lord that He has heard you and is doing something about the problem. If you do this and refuse to be troubled, “the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” Remember: The devil cannot handle a peaceful Christian.

The Father Wants Us Carefree

When my daughter, Jessica, started Primary 1, she would miss her mother and call home during recess. One day, she could not get through to her mother and became very anxious. It was a traumatic experience for her.

When she came home that day, I spoke to her about what had happened. I was very concerned about her. It hurt me to see her so troubled. She kept saying, “I don’t want to go to school. It is like a nightmare. I want to be with Mama.” I tried to reason with her, but it was like she was just not listening to me.

I finally left her with her mother and went to my room. I was frustrated that my daughter was worrying at such a young age. I was even feeling a little angry towards her. So I sat down and told the Lord, “Lord, I don’t want her to be troubled. She is so young. And I just feel bad about being angry with her. I am confused, Lord.”

The Lord said to me, “Son, why are you so concerned about her?”

I said, “Well, I just don’t want her to worry.”

“Is that the real reason?”

“Yes.”

There was silence for a while. Then, He asked, “What is the reason you don’t want her to worry?”

I thought about it for a while and then like a flash I saw the real reason: I love my Jessica so much that I want her to be carefree! I want her to enjoy life. I don’t want her, at such a young age, to be thinking, “What if tomorrow I call and Mama is not there? What if… What if…” I don’t want her to worry because I love her so much.

It gives me a big thrill to hear her break out in a belly laugh when she is watching her favourite TV program, or when Wendy and I are kissing her belly on the bed. It makes us happy to hear her laugh. But it makes us sad to see her cry or even worry at that tender age. So it is not that I don’t want her to worry because I just don’t want her to worry, or because I am a pastor. I don’t want her to worry because I love her very much and I want her to be happy.

When I realized that, the Lord said, “Son, now you know how I feel towards you. I am not telling you not to worry for the sake of not worrying. I am telling you not to worry because I love you so much and I want to see you happy. I want you to enjoy life and, most of all, enjoy My love in your life.”

Your Father wants you living life carefree, enjoying His love and knowing that He watches over you.

Beloved, I hope that you will not forget what the Lord said to me. Your Father wants you living life carefree, enjoying His love and knowing that He watches over you. He really loves you. And perfect love — knowing this perfect love — will cast out every fear in your life (1 John 4:18).

Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to your stature? (Matthew 6:27) So let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid, and the grace of God will flow freely in your life, causing you to see His blessings at their richest!

Don’t Give Up At Thirtyfold!

“But other seed fell on good ground and yielded a crop that sprang up, increased and produced: some thirtyfold, some sixty, and some a hundred.”

Perhaps you have marvelled at God’s instantaneous healing miracles. Perhaps you believed that He could do the same for you. But now, when you see your own healing taking so long to manifest, you are tempted to give up.

My friend, when the manifestation does not come instantaneously, we are not to be discouraged because Jesus let us in on a secret when He told the parable of the sower. (Mark 4:3–20)

The parable of the sower teaches us that once we receive God’s Word into our hearts regarding our situation, God’s blessings will manifest in progression. When we receive our thirtyfold manifestation, it means that 70 per cent of that condition is still there. But some of us give up at thirtyfold because we still feel more pain than relief.

We need to realise that we are thirtyfold better than before! And our sixtyfold is coming! Once we receive our sixtyfold manifestation, there is still 40 per cent that is not well. But we are more healed than sick now, and we only need to get ready for the hundredfold manifestation!

For years, I had a skin condition. Medication did not help and, finally, after I had done everything I knew to do, I decided to take the Holy Communion and pray about it. I said, “Father, I have an infirmity. I don’t know what is hindering the physical manifestation of this healing. Holy Spirit, I am trusting You to make perfect intercession regarding the manifestation of my healing.”

That was how I prayed for my skin condition. Did I look into the mirror to see if it had left? Of course, I did! I am like anyone else. But did I stop praying? No, I kept on praying until one day, I heard a voice within me say, “Look at your body.” When I looked into the mirror, the skin condition was completely gone! I was totally healed, but the manifestation of the healing was gradual.

Today, if you have seen only a thirtyfold increase in your situation, don’t give up — the sixtyfold, then hundredfold increases are on their way to you!

F1 2009 begins…

After a dramatic end to F1 in 2008, a new season begins with a whole new lot of dramatic changes to the sport. Firstly cars are now uglier, cars are not that powerful as previous ones, no more threaded tyres, an additional system called KERS (something like NOS) installed on some cars and much much more. The changes are taking place to accommodate the economic situations by reducing cost and spending which is actually a good thing, secondly the change is making the sport more a little bit more interesting like more overtaking maneuvers thanks to the KERS system, however not all cars are fitted with it? But anyway most of the top 4-5 teams have them installed that makes it interesting for me.

The most surprising news on the paddocks is the McLaren team facing problem with their car during winter testing which brought Hamilton to the F1 halls of fames, is this is ploy to fool people or is this really real? Will have to see in this weekend.

The Bible and The Coal Basket

The story is told of an old man who lived on a farm in the mountains of eastern Kentucky with his young grandson. Each morning, Grandpa was up early sitting at the kitchen table reading from his old worn-out Bible.

His grandson who wanted to be just like him tried to imitate him in any way he could. One day the grandson asked, "Papa, I try to read the Bible just like you but I don't understand it, and what I do understand I forget as soon as I close the book. What good does reading the Bible do?"
The Grandfather quietly turned from putting coal in the stove and said, "Take this coal basket down to the river and bring back a basket of water." The boy did as he was told, even though all the water leaked out before he could get back to the house.
The grandfather laughed and said, "You will have to move a little faster next time,"and sent him back to the river with the basket to try again.

This time the boy ran faster, but again the basket was empty before he returned home. Out of breath, he told his grandfather that it was "impossible to carry water in a basket," and he went to get a bucket instead. The old man said, "I don't want a bucket of water; I want a basket of water. You can do this. You're just not trying hard enough," and he went out the door to watch the boy try again."
At this point, the boy knew it was impossible, but he wanted to show his grandfather that even if he ran as fast as he could, the water would leak out before he got far at all. The boy scooped the water and ran hard, but when he reached his grandfather the basket was again empty. Out of breath, he said, "See Papa, it's useless!"

"So you think it is useless?" The old man said, "Look at the basket." The boy looked at the basket and for the first time he realized that the basket looked different. Rather than being a dirty old coal basket, it was clean. The wise Grandfather said, "Son, that's what happens when you read the Bible. You might not understand or remember everything, but when you read it, it will change you from the inside out. That is the work of God in our lives."

To change us from the inside out and to slowly transform us into the image of His son, take time to read a portion of God's word each day.

Well well..Microsoft has done it again with another brand new web browser, improving on the predecessor IE7. I’ve just given it a try last night and seems to work fine so far without any problems. Installation was a breeze and surfing was faster than the old IE7 (Well looks faster to me). But anyways I’ve yet to explore the many new features yet although the features looks promising, like the added security such as SmartScreen Filter (but be reminded Microsoft products are prone to be attacked thanks to anti Microsoft users), Search Suggestions – which offers a friendly search from sources from famous websites like- Wiki, Web Slices – read more here.

I’m guessing there will be much more value added features in Internet Explored 8 that I've yet to explore, but hopefully the security and safety from malware, adware will hold true for some time at least, that at least will make me a happy IE fan for quite some time.

Transformer – Crane

This 30 tonne crane decided to transform into a robot but looks like it had a malfunction while transforming and it ended up causing thousands of people including myself to get stuck in a massive traffic jam. A normal 30-40 minute drive to work ended up in almost a 2 hour drive to work. Man my legs were tired pressing the breaks the accelerator and than the breaks again and than the accelerator again.

In my keynote at IDF San Francisco last August, I commented that “a small deed done is better than a great deed planned.” I’m happy to announce that today Intel is launching a campaign that embodies the spirit of that message.
The Small Things Challenge aims to raise awareness and money for two of the world’s most pressing challenges -- increasing access to primary school education and economic development in developing countries.
As a global leader, it is Intel’s responsibility in good times and bad times to set an example, help the less fortunate, and make the world a better place.
Throughout the developing world more than 75 million primary age children are not in school; and at least 80% of humanity lives on less than $10 a day. While these issues will continue to challenge our world for some time, we can improve individual’s lives through pooling surprisingly small contributions.

The Small Things Challenge encourages people worldwide to get involved and be part of the solution. In my global travels and work with the United Nations, I’ve seen the real-life, door-opening impact of micro-financing and education. We are working with two respected organizations – Kiva.org and Save the Children – to raise funds and deliver hands-on support in the local markets where help is needed most.

Every small, individual action can make a big difference - every journey starts with a first step. For example, Kiva.org brings micro-financing to the masses worldwide through the Internet. A modest micro-loan through Kiva.org will give an entrepreneur a hand-up to grow a business and provide for his or her family. A $25 loan can go towards the $250 a fisherman in Cambodia needs for buying nets so he can catch and sell more fish. Or, a small donation to Save the Children -- combined with other individuals’ contributions -- will provide thousands of primary school children in conflict-affected countries the opportunity to attend school.
The Small Things Challenge builds upon Intel’s 40 years of active involvement in education. Over the last decade, Intel has invested over $1 billion and Intel employees have donated more than 2 million hours towards improving education in 50 countries.

Just b4 the new 2009

Lots has been happening b4 the new year. In fact there is so much till I haven't gotten the chance to write about it. So here is just a brief write up of what's happened. The weekend b4 Christmas I was in KL attending Lyanne and Derek's wedding, members from my church. Sharon and I experienced a beautiful wedding at the St Andrew's Presbyterian in the heart of KL city. During the weekend in KL we took the opportunity to visit shopping malls and to makan. It was definitely quite a tiring weekend as we drove down to KL on Friday night and arrived in KL at 3am in the morning. Slept for 4 hours and went out the whole day till night, I even drove all the way to LCCT to pick my sister and was so late for the wedding dinner until I decided the skip the dinner as it was almost 7pm when I reached my sister's place, also it was pouring cats and dogs that I couldn't even see the car ahead of me. Soo

Supposedly to be released mid year of 2008. It is now delayed and pushed back to 2009. Oh well I would rather wait than to pay.

About the game:

Heroes will be the first Battlefield game to be released under Electronic Arts' new "Play 4 Free" model, which will see the game released for free with revenue generated from advertising and micropayments.Advertisements will appear on the website and the 'front-end' of the game although none will appear in-game, while micropayments may be made for additional items to customize the appearance of players' avatars without any gaming advantage.The game is said to be placing less emphasis on skill and strategy, and will be less demanding on computer specifications than the previous games of the series to increase the audience base. In addition, a system will be in place to match players of similar skill levels together for fair play.

Reason for the Delay:

On July 29, 2008, it was announced that Battlefield Heroes will be delayed until sometime 2009.EA CEO John Riccitiello stated that they are going "to increase its focus on some of the social networking features".

What's happening to our world?

Was checking out the news on CNN and came across some pictures taken from ISS - the international space station. The pictures were supposed to be stunning pictures from Nasa, but was soon saddened to see 2 pictures. It's a true fact that the world is not was it was supposed to be. The breaking of the polar ice caps and deforestation are just a few things that are causing the world to fall apart. See pictures below.

The Madagascar Penguins in A Christmas Caper

As usual the Penguins are in for another mission to rescue one of the Madagascar penguins as he ventures out into NYC to buy a present for a lonely polar bear in the zoo.However after being mistaken for a toy and being bought by an elderly lady, the three other penguins must save him from the evil wrath of the lady's small dog, who appears cute and cuddly on the outside, yet is evil, with menacing eyes and dagger-like teeth on the inside. 3 days to Christmas

At this point of time many people will be busy buying Christmas gifts and also on holiday enjoying the holidays but despite all that is happening around us I just want to recognize Jesus this Christmas season for Christmas is all about Him, for too long many people for have gotten the wrong idea and concept about Christmas. Many people think about Christmas as the season of buying gifts and receiving gifts, secondly they think about Santa Claus and thirdly shopping. Well the greatest gift every Christmas season is Jesus for God has sent his son (Jesus) to become our Lord and Savior nearly 2000 years ago. I'm glad this year we can celebrate once again with Jesus and the Lord's greatest gift to mankind. In fact we can always remember Him everyday not only during this Christmas season. I'm also glad that this Christmas season I can celebrate with my wife Sharon, for we will be celebrating our first Christmas as husband and wife.

For all my readers, I personally want to wish you a blessed Christmas, be safe this Christmas season and enjoy the holiday season and have a blessed new year in 2009.

Never Alone, Always Cared For

Ever felt alone and not cared for? Well I do and I bet you do too. But don't worry. You're always cared for even though you may think that your circumstances are way beyond control, He will always be there with you and for you. Hard to believe? That's the first point in having no faith. I'm like this too but don't worry pick yourself up and wait upon.

Never Alone, Always Cared For

1 Peter 5:7
7casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.

It does not matter how tightly knit our families are or how many close friends we have. When we go through a difficult time or trial, many a time, we still feel all alone and that no one really cares or understands.

Martha knew that feeling. She had on one occasion cried out to Jesus, “Lord, do You not care that my sister has left me to serve alone?” (Luke 10:40) Jesus’ disciples also knew what it was like to feel small, alone and in trouble. They cried out, “Teacher, do You not care that we are perishing?” when they were swept up in a terrifying storm. (Mark 4:38)

Today, maybe the cry of your heart is also, “Lord, do You not care that I am left all alone… that I am going under… that I am perishing?”

My friend, the Lord does care for you. He loves you so much that He wants you to cast all your cares upon Him — not just some but all your cares. He wants both your big and small cares. There is nothing too small or big for Him. If it is a care in your heart, He wants you to cast it upon Him.

When the apostle Peter wrote “casting all your care upon Him”, he was talking about the continuous act of casting all your cares upon the Lord. As a care comes, God wants you to cast it to Him. That is the lifestyle He wants you to adopt. Why? The verse gives us the reason — “for He cares for you”. You are casting all your cares upon the One who loves you, and who left all of heaven to come and die for you. That is who you are casting your cares to. It is not just any person, but it is the One who gave His life for you!

When you are going through a difficult time, God wants you to believe that you are never alone because He Himself has said that He will never leave you nor forsake you. (Hebrews 13:5) As the object of His care, He will take care of you for the rest of your life. You are never alone and always cared for!

China Aid

I received an email from China Aid today and I didn't even know I was in the mailing list, until I received the email from them. This is the first email I'm receiving from China Aid. Anyway I checked out the web site and found that it's all about people in China serving the Lord and their stories and their prayer requests to rescue their loved ones from the government. This website will certainly make us aware of the trials and persecution the Chinese church is going through. It's certainly an eye opener. After reading a few stories I was kinda sad to hear families celebrating Christmas without their fathers and newly weds arrested on their wedding just because they are Christians. Hope you guys will check it out and hope the stories will touch your heart and hope we will pray despite the suffering God's children go through. Whoever put my email in the mailing list I appreciate it very much for sharing this site to me.

Handphone lost in silent mode...

Have you seen my black Nokia handphone anywhere? I lost my handphone either at home or in church and worst it is in silent mode. I'm still able to call my phone but I'm afraid the battery won't last any longer, guessing by the end of the day it will die. I've been searching high and low for it but still I can't find it anywhere. I even went back to church to look for it but not able to find it. I'm sure nobody has found it yet coz my credit is still intact and not used. Fellow church members if you know where my handphone is let me know ASAP. Thanks

Just wondering whether there is such thing as a triangulating service to actually track where the phone is? You've certainly seen in on tv shows where cops use it to triangulate where a criminal is..but can this be done for normal users like us? Hmm wondering...
