Northern Lights

The Northern lights is also known as "Aurora Borealis" is usually found in the polar zone is actually  lights which are observed only at night. How I wish I can be there to see the lights together with Sharon. That would be a dream wish to actually go and see this wonderful lights. The aurora borealis most often occurs from September to October and from March to April according to Wikipedia.

So what are these lights and how are they formed?

Auroras are produced by the collision of charged particles from Earth's magnetosphere, mostly electrons but also protons and heavier particles, with atoms and molecules of Earth's upper atmosphere (at altitudes above 80 km). The particles have energies of 1 to 100 keV. They originate from the Sun and arrive at the vicinity of Earth in the relatively low-energy solar wind. When the trapped magnetic field of the solar wind is favourably oriented (principally southwards) it reconnects with Earth's magnetic field, and solar particles enter the magnetosphere and are swept to the magnetotail. Further magnetic reconnection accelerates the particles towards Earth.

The collisions in the atmosphere electronically excite atoms and molecules in the upper atmosphere. The excitation energy can be lost by light emission or collisions. Most aurorae are green and red emission from atomic oxygen. Molecular nitrogen and nitrogen ions produce some low level red and very high blue/violet aurorae. The light blue colors are produced by ionic nitrogen and the neutral nitrogen gives off the red and purple color with the rippled edges. Different gases interacting with the upper atmosphere will produce different colors, caused by the different compounds of oxygen and nitrogen.

Thanks to Wikipedia :)

Anyway enjoy the pictures.

Honestly the lights reminds me of God resting and smoking his pipe and leaving a wonderful trail of smoke for us to enjoy and see...

God is a wonderful artist who paints the skies even at night.

For those of you looking for a cool Logo Creation Program look no further. AAA Logo is a pretty cool software which helps you in creating a logo quick and easy. There's lots of pictures and styles to choose from. The header of my blog is an example of a logo created by AAA Logo. The picture is not sharp as expected because I was using a demo version of the software. However if you want you can buy the software at a reasonable price.

Risks in Faith: When God Delays

I want to specially thank Rick Warren for this wonderful devotional. I'm sure you all will be blessed as well when you read this. God Bless :)

by Rick Warren

For the revelation awaits an appointed time; it speaks of the end and will not prove false. Though it linger, wait for it; it will certainly come and will not delay. Habakkuk 2:3 (NIV)

If you ever find yourself in God’s waiting room – waiting for an answer, a change, or a miracle – you just need to stop and trust God. He’s never late or in a hurry, because his timing is perfect.

When I started Saddleback Church, I had no idea that it would take 15 years and 10,000 weekly attenders for us to have our own land and our own building. At Saddleback’s very first church service I said, “Someday we’re going to buy at least 50 acres. But we’re not going to do it for the first five years because we’re going to put all our money into people and programs.”

Seven years after that first worship service it looked like we were well on our way to having our own building. Our people had sacrificed to raise money for land – canceling vacations, working second jobs, selling diamond rings, and giving from their pensions.

We finally found the right piece of land but we needed another $1.2 million to close the deal. In the last 60 days of 1987, the people in this church gave the needed funds and the land was ours.

Two years later, though, we still were working out zoning details with the county supervisors and they decided to delay us indefinitely.

My wife, Kay, was upset with me – and with God. She prayed: “God, you have been unfair to us. We have tried to do this exactly the way you told us with faith, honesty, and integrity. God, I don’t know what game you’re playing, but let me in on it because I don’t get it!

God responded: “Kay, what is it to you if I allow every church on the face of the earth to have a building and land and Saddleback never does? Will you still follow me?”

She answered, “Yes, Lord, I will.”

That experience helped me really know the truth of John 13:7, when Jesus said: “You do not realize now what I'm doing but later you will understand” (NIV).

That same truth is communicated in 2 Corinthians 1:9: “This happened that we might not rely on ourselves but on God, who raises the dead” (NIV).

So often it looks like God is delaying or denying us, but his timing is perfect. Next time you feel like you’re in God’s waiting room, trust that God is working in his own perfect time on his own perfect plan – which is so much better than anything we can plan or dream.

Dependence on Him

We spend the majority of our lives building security in our job, finances, and relationships.  But security within the world system is extremely shallow and deceptive; "Do not store up for yourselves treasures {security} on earth, where moth and rust destroy, where thieves break in and steal" (Matthew 6:19).  We ought to be thankful for every one of our earthly blessings, but we should NEVER receive our "security" from the world.  Our complete dependence must always remain on our Heavenly Father, and our eyes and ears continually open to His leading.

Special thanks to :-

I continually pray that your words will inspire many people all across the globe and that they will turn their ways back to you, trusting you, believing you and having faith in You.

Faith To Move Mountains

Just wanted to share this wonderful devotional from God's Daily Word with all my readers of my blog

mountain

In the message "The Mountain of Faith" we saw the faith of Abraham as God told him to climb the mountain and sacrifice Isaac.  But, more importantly, we saw this as a picture of what it means to truly believe.  Jesus said,
"whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life" (John 3:16), but true belief clearly implies a willingness to obediently follow.

The gift of eternal life is given to those who have faith in Jesus for the forgiveness of sin.  This precious gift is never linked to a specific amount of faith; rather, the only requirement of the gospel is that our faith be genuine.  In fact, Jesus stated that a small amount of faith can accomplish more than we can imagine.

Matthew 17:20
"If you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there' and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you."

This is amazing!  Jesus used the example of a mustard seed because it was the smallest seed known.  A few chapters later, He made a similar statement; "If you have faith and do not doubt...you can say to this
mountain, 'Go throw yourself into the sea,' and it will be done" (Matthew 21:21).  If we are a child of God then we have already been given sufficient faith by Jesus, "the author and perfecter of our faith" (Hebrews 12:2).  There is therefore NO obstacle which cannot be cast aside!

Of course, genuine faith also implies an alignment with the will of God.  Jesus even said, "He can do only what He sees His Father doing" (John 5:19).  This is why we don't see physical mountains moving around today -
it's not in the will of God.  However, it's most definitely in God's will that we move all mountains which threaten to block our path toward Him or hinder His plan for our life.

If we really believe, we ought to be living our life according to His truth and the faith we have been given!  Though we may face mountains in our job, relationships, finances, health, kids, or parents; though we may face
temptations or addictions which appear impossible to conquer; though we may battle a low self esteem which says we can't, we must believe the Word of God is true!  "With God ALL things are possible" (Matthew 19:26).  Though
we may not understand, we must believe, in faith, that God is infinitely greater than the bounds of our understanding.  We are not walking alone and NO problem is beyond His ability to direct.

If we desire to live the full life God intends - the life that honors Him with every move and even every breath - then God's Word must become our foundation.  Whatever problems we face, we must fall on our knees with humble submission to His will and seek His face in prayer.  Then we must rise up and step forward without doubt, and, in His strength, believe we have been given the faith to move mountains.

Have a Christ Centered Day!

Marriage is About Sharing

The sharing of marriage...

The old man placed order for one hamburger, French fries and a drink.

He unwrapped the plain hamburger and carefully cut it in half, placing one half in front of his wife
.
He then carefully counted out the French fries, dividing them into two piles and neatly placed one pile in front of his wife.

He took a sip of the drink, his wife took a sip and then set the cup down between them . As he began to eat his few bites of hamburger, the people around them were looking over and whispering.

Obviously they were thinking, 'That poor old couple - all they can afford is one meal for the two of them.'

As the man began to eat his fries a young man came to the table and politely offered to buy another meal for the old couple. The old man said, they were just fine - they were used to sharing everything.

People closer to the table noticed the little old lady hadn't eaten a bite. She sat there watching her husband eat and occasionally taking turns sipping the drink.

Again, the young man came over and begged them to let him buy another meal for them. This time the old woman said 'No, thank you, we are used to sharing everything.'

Finally, as the old man finished and was wiping his face neatly with the napkin, the young man again came over to the little old lady who had yet to eat a single bite of food and asked 'What is it you are waiting for?'
She answered

The Lord Is Your Refuge

Psalm 91:1–2
1He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. 2I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress; my God, in Him I will trust.”

What a start to my day...

Guess what... I forgot to take my bag to work today. Once I parked my car and started looking for my bag only did I realize that I have forgotten to take my bag to work. I had to drive all the way back from Bayan Lepas to Tg Bungah to get my bag and then drive all the way back to work again. It took me about 1 hour to drive to and fro. Oh well next time how sleepy you are when you wake up always remember to take your important stuff to work. However I was asking myself how I may have forgotten to take my bag to work, I guess it was due to some stuff which I need to carry into the car and conveniently forgot all about my bag. I needed my bag because it had my laptop, without it I never will be able to do my work. Oh well....what a start to my day.

Mark 5:28

28For she said, “If only I may touch His clothes, I shall be made well.”

A good verse on convincing yourself and not God. Many a times we need to convince ourselves that God Heals, God provides and he never ceases to bless and protect. It is not God whom we need to convince but ourselves.

Trip Down South.....

I will be in Kuala Lumpur the whole week for training. Sharon and I decided travel down to KL on Saturday to visit a few places first before checking into the hotel. Initially we decided to wake up at 3am in the morning to begin our journey, but we were to sleepy to wake up...but we managed to wake up finally at 6am. By 6.20am we were out of the house and beginning our journey.

Genting Highlands

Our first stop was to Genting Highland, Sharon decided that we should just go up Genting since we drove past the cable car station, our initial first stop was to go up Bukit Tinggi which was about 1/2 hour drive from Genting. Anyway we took the cable car up to Genting Highlands had lunch and quickly walked around until the rain sta rted to pour down and decided that we should not waste anymore time up in Genting since we couldn't enjoy the fresh cool air anymore outdoors.

While up in Genting we decided to have a Deutsh Doodle Dang with 1901 HotDogs. It's new on the menu

BukitTinggi (High Hills)

Bukit Tinggi is a highland resort located about 1 hour drive away from Genting. The resort is a recreation of a French Village and it costs RM16 per person to see the place and the surrounding areas. The french village gives you the feel of how it feels to stay in a French Village. All the buildings you see are actually Hotel Rooms.

Well some people say the chicken rice ball is very ho chaik (delicious),but honestly speaking it isn't that nice at all. Maybe because I'm a Penang Kia and the food in Penang is certainly nicer to eat.

Bye Bye Melaka....

IMG_6346 (Medium)  IMG_6342 (Medium)

Guess what we saw when we were leaving Melaka, a shop selling dentures (fake teeth). One thing really annoys me is the traffic lights on the way out to the highway, there were just too many stops to the toll plaza. Sharon and I counted at least 13-14 traffic lights. The worst thing is whenever the lights turn green the counter for the green lights were only 30 seconds while the stopping time is 90seconds. That's crazy and worst of all was when we were down there there was this festival which caused massive traffic jams along the main roads in Melaka. But all in all we had an interesting trip, it was also Sharon's first time to Melaka, and I was glad to be her tour guide.
